1. HOLY CROSS PCC MEETING will take place after the Parish Mass at 12 30 pm prompt.
2. AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST – The Bishop of Edmonton, Bishop Robert, has notified us of a movement within the Diocese of London which seeks to appoint 100,000 ambassadors for Christ by the year 2020. These are to be faithful people drawn from parishes across the Diocese of London who will be commissioned by the Bishop to communicate the love of Christ within their own spheres of influence: whether in schools, in the workplace or on our streets. There are booklets available at the back of church for information and a sheet to sign up to form a group with Fr Christopher and explore this possibility more fully. Sign up now and fulfil the words of 2 Corinthians 5.20 “We are ambassadors of Christ”.
3. NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINE OF EDWARD THE CONFESSOR AT WESTMINSTER ABBEY takes place on Saturday 15th October with a Mass at 11 30 am. The Preacher will be The Rt Rev’d. Dr Geoffrey Rowell, Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Chichester and formerly Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe. A part of us will leave Holy Cross Church at 10 30 am for the Abbey and please sign the list at the back of church if you intend to go. The Abbey is organising a whole day of events culminating with Choral Evensong with Procession at 3 pm.

1. MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE LAST SUNDAY’S PATRONAL CELEBRATIONS SO VERY JOYFUL AND MEMORABLE. Thanks especially to those who worked so hard to provide refreshments, music and flowers and to ensure the church looked prepared and beautiful for our celebrations.

Robert Wickham. Choir members from St Alban’s Holborn will accompany the music and there will be a reception after the Mass. 1. THE PARISH BEATING OF THE BOUNDS ahead of our Patronal Festival will take place this Saturday 10th September at 11 am, beginning after the 11 am Mass. We will follow our parish boundary, which will take us down Judd Street/Hunter Street, through Brunswick Gardens to Mecklenburgh Square and then across to Frederick Street, King’s Cross Road, Euston Road and back to Cromer Street. The walk takes about one hour with talks based on important buildings and landmarks along the way. The walk will be followed by bangers and mash and banana custard in the crypt. Please sign the list at the back of church if you would like to come and wish to stay for lunch.
