NOTICES THIS WEEK:

1.     THE REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY COMMEMORATION AND PARISH MASS BEGINS AT 10 50 AM THIS MORNING. We begin the service outside at the war memorial at 10 50 am in readiness for the National Two Minutes’ Silence at 11 am. We will be joined for the Act of Remembrance by a contingent from the local Territorial Army.

2.     *** THIS COMING SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 11 AM ‘TIL 3 PM - HOLY CROSS CHURCH VISION

DAY :  ‘HOLY CROSS – A CHURCH TURNED TOWARD THE COMMUNITY IT SERVES’ ***

The Vision day will follow the pattern of our Mid-Lenten Mission Day, but this time we will be joined by The Archdeacon of Hampstead, The Ven. John Hawkins. Our church architect, Jonathan Louth will also be joining us after lunch. The meeting will concentrate on the present and future state of the Holy Cross Church site, including the Crypt. We will invite discussion and your ideas for a strategy for the repair, refurbishment and re-equipping of the church within a ten year plan. This plan invites the implementation of our mission strategy for a more outward looking and accessible church. Following the Vision Day, we will draw up a Vision Document which will set down our hopes and ideas in full.

3.     ADVENT QUIET DAY WITH THE SISTERS OF ST MARY AT THE CROSS AT EDGWARE ‘BE PREPARED FOR THE LORD’ takes place on Saturday 25th November from 10 am ‘til 3 30 pm. To be led by Fr David Francis Darling of St Andrew’s, Willesden. Cost £7 per person and please bring a packed lunch. There is a list for you to sign at the back of church if would like to come. We leave Holy Cross Church at 9 am promptly. Consequently there will be no 10 30 am Mass on this day.

4.     FORWARD NOTICE OF TWO CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICES AT HOLY CROSS. The first of these Carol Services takes place in this church on Thursday 7th December at 6 30 pm for a glorious candlelit service with Goodenough College, followed by mulled wine and mince pies. The second Carol Service takes place on Wednesday 13th December at 11 am for our local elderly residents from King’s Cross Brunswick Neighbourhood Association and the Greatcroft Daycare Centre in Cromer Street. Not to be missed.

5.     HOLY CROSS PEACE GARDEN RESTORATION AND WORK DAY on Thursday 21st December FROM 10 45 am ‘til 2 pm with refreshments provided. Come and help bring the Peace Garden back to life!

A list is at the back of church for you to enter the names of your loved ones who have departed this life either recently or in the past. These names are solemnly read out at the All Souls Mass. Do come and remember the dead.

2.     PARISH LUNCH CLUB MEETS THIS SATURDAY 4TH NOVEMBER for a delicious, home cooked, two course lunch in the Crypt, which is served at 1 pm.  Cost: £2.50 each. All welcome.
