1. PETER LOWE – WITH OUR LOVE AND FAREWELL Peter has served this church for over 65 years (in fact since 1951!) and he and his wife Wendy will be moving to their new home on the Isle of Wight sometime in November. His official leaving service at this church will take place in on Thursday 1st November (All Saints’ Day) with a Mass at 7 pm followed by a reception. The Celebrant and Preacher on this occasion will be the former Bishop of Edmonton, Bishop Peter Wheatley, who served as Vicar of our parish from 1978-1982.  Please put this date in your diaries and do make this important occasion a top priority. A food list is available at the back of church for you to sign. Please note – donations for a gift to Peter are to be given to Fr Christopher or one of churchwardens, Julia and Charles.

2. THE CHOIR OF ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL will be singing music by Herbert Howells and others at a service of Choral Evensong at St Mary’s Church Brookfield (Dartmouth Park Road NW5 1SL) this coming Sunday 14th October at 3 15 pm. Tea and cake will be served after the service. Not to be missed!

3. AN EVENING WITH ZACHARY MACAULAY takes place in St George’s Gardens on Friday 19th October, beginning at 5 45 pm for 6 pm. Zachary Macaulay fought for the emancipation from slavery in this country in the early part of the Nineteenth Century. There will be an unveiling of a plaque in his memory. This has been made possible through the hard work of Diana Scarrott and Friends of St George’s Gardens and our own parish team… The memorial will be set on the north side of the gardens, which happens to fall inside our parish! Following the unveiling and opening speeches, there will be a guided walk with a talk by ‘Zachary Macaulay and his wife’. Following the guided walk, there will be a reception at Goodenough College and a lecture on ‘Modern Slavery’. All are welcome to come along to savour a significant piece of our local history and to meet our friends from Friends of St George’s Gardens and Goodenough College. The Mayor of Camden will be present.

4. FORWARD NOTICE: OUR PARISH LUNCH CLUB RESUMES ON SATURDAY 3rd NOVEMBER in the crypt with a delicious home cooked two course meal served at 1 pm. Please note we need help to set up our kitchen and a small team of volunteers who would be prepared to help us cook and serve the food on the day and welcome our guests. The Lunch Club continues forward on the first Saturday of each month and the cost of the lunch will be £3.Donations of pots and pans and kitchen utensils would be gratefully received at this stage!
