FORWARD NOTICE OF NEXT PCC MEETING on Sunday 30th July after the Parish Mass.

 

 1.     HOLY CROSS CHURCH CONFIRMATION GROUP will meet this coming Thursday, 6th July at 7 pm in church. This Week : The Sunday Liturgy and Serving at the Altar.

2.     LONDON BIBLE WEEK takes place from 17th to 22nd July and there are many opportunities to make a Bible Study with practised theologians. There are leaflets containing full details of the Bible studies at the back of church. They take place at The Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street, Westminster SW1P 3DW, You can go online and find out more and book on the website,  www.londonbibleweek.com  Fr Christopher recommends the session with Archbishop Rowan Williams on Tuesday 18th July at 7 pm. You can book online for your own tickets which cost £12 each, but there are discounts!

3.     PARISH SUMMER PICNIC AT REGENTS PARK AFTER THE SUNDAY MASS ON SUNDAY 23RD JULY. An opportunity for us all to go off to the park and relax for the afternoon. Please bring your own picnic, though there should be plenty of food to go around. You might also want to bring something to sit on. All welcome.

4.     P A C T S  LEAFLETS FOR INDIVIDUAL GUIDED PRAYER AND PARISH MONTHLY INTERCESSIONS BOOKLETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BACK OF CHURCH. You can also find these aids to prayer on the Parish website.

THE FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI is celebrated in this church this evening, Sunday 18th June at 6 pm for a Service of Choral Evensong (after the Book of Common Prayer), Sermon and Solemn Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Our Preacher will be The Rev’d. Pippa Turner, Chaplain to The Royal Veterinary College. Pippa has been a friend of Holy Cross Church and has joined Fr Christopher in Morning Prayer on Friday mornings during her time as Chaplain. A reception in the crypt will follow.  Food may be taken to the crypt from 4 pm.

2. HOLY CROSS CHURCH CONFIRMATION GROUP will meet this coming Thursday, 22nd June at 7 pm in church. This week: The Holy Eucharist and The Sunday Liturgy at Holy Cross Church.

3. THIS FRIDAY 23RD JUNE 9 30-AM ‘TIL 12 NOON: VISIT OF 85 STUDENTS FROM BERKELEY COLLEGE, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. They will be visiting Holy Cross Church with Prof. Dominic Janes, their class leader, as part of a course they are undertaking to learn more about British Culture. The morning will be split into two, with one address by Fr Christopher looking at the history of Holy Cross Church from 10-10 45 am and then,  after coffee and doughnuts at 11 15 am, the second address will be given by the Bishop of Edmonton, The Rt Rev’d. Robert Wickham with observations on the Church of England in the contemporary London context. Do feel free to come along and join us and offer our visiting students a hearty Holy Cross welcome!
