 1.     A SOLEMN CANDLE-LIT MASS FOR THE COMMEMORATION OF ALL SOULS TAKES PLACE IN THIS CHURCH THIS THURSDAY 2ND NOVEMBER AT 7 PM. A list is at the back of church for you to enter the names of your loved ones who have departed this life either recently or in the past. These names are solemnly read out at the All Souls Mass. Do come and remember the dead.

2.     PARISH LUNCH CLUB MEETS THIS SATURDAY 4TH NOVEMBER for a delicious, home cooked, two course lunch in the Crypt, which is served at 1 pm.  Cost: £2.50 each. All welcome.

3.     REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY COMMEMORATION AND PARISH MASS BEGINS 10 50 AM IN THIS CHURCH ON SUNDAY 12TH NOVEMBER.

4.     SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 11 AM ‘TIL 3 PM - HOLY CROSS CHURCH VISION DAY :  ‘HOLY CROSS – A CHURCH TURNED TOWARD THE PARISH AND COMMUNITY IT SERVES’.

The Vision day will follow the pattern of our Mid-Lenten Mission Day, but this time we will be joined by The Archdeacon of Hampstead, The Ven. John Hawkins. Our church architect, Jonathan Louth will also be joining us after lunch. The meeting will concentrate on the present and future state of the Holy Cross Church site, including the Crypt. We will invite discussion and your ideas for a strategy for the repair, refurbishment and re-equipping of the church within a ten year plan. This plan invites the implementation of our mission strategy for a more outward looking and accessible church. We hope that, following the Vision day, we will be able to draw up a Vision Document which will allow our hopes and ideas to be set down in full.

5.     ADVENT QUIET DAY WITH THE SISTERS OF ST MARY AT THE CROSS AT EDGWARE ‘BE PREPARED FOR THE LORD’ takes place on Saturday 25th November from 10 am ‘til 3 30 pm. To be led by Fr David Francis Darling of St Andrew’s, Willesden. Cost £7 per person and please bring a packed lunch. There is a list for you to sign at the back of church if would like to come. We leave Holy Cross Church at 9 am promptly. Consequently there will be no 10 30 am Mass on this day.

6.     P A C T S  LEAFLETS FOR INDIVIDUAL GUIDED PRAYER AND PARISH MONTHLY INTERCESSIONS BOOKLETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BACK OF CHURCH. You can also find these aids to prayer on the Parish website.

1.     WESTMINSTER ABBEY – NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINE OF EDWARD THE CONFESSOR on Saturday 14th October – All day pilgrimage with visits to the Shrine of St Edward the Confessor. 11.30 am - Festival Eucharist . This Festival Eucharist celebrates St Edward's life and holiness on the day of the national pilgrimage to his shrine. Preacher: The Right Reverend Dr John Inge, Bishop of Worcester.  At 3.00 pm - First Evensong of the Dedication of Westminster Abbey. See leaflets at the back of church for more details.

 

2.     LOOK OUT FOR OUR HOLY CROSS CHURCH VISION DAY :  ‘HOLY CROSS – A CHURCH TURNED TOWARD THE PARISH AND COMMUNITY IT SERVES’. The Vision Day, will take place in mid to late November on a Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm with lunch from 12 30 ‘til 1 15 pm (date to be confirmed next Sunday, but most likely Saturday 18th November).

 

The Vision day will follow the pattern of our Mid-Lenten Mission Day, and we will be joined by our church architect, Jonathan Louth, but this time the meeting will concentrate on the present and future state of the Holy Cross Church site, including the Crypt. We will invite discussion and your ideas for a strategy for the repair, refurbishment and re-equipping of the church within a ten year plan. We hope that, following the Vision day, we will be able to draw up a Vision Document allow our hopes and ideas to be set down and realised.
